Updates on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Recently we reached out to our customer community to communicate how we plan to manage our supply chain during these unprecedented times. This work is ongoing and includes daily calls with our supplier partners to understand their operational status during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have implemented “impact reporting” to enable you to monitor the current supply chain status of the suppliers you are sourcing through Carlton-Bates. In addition, we have created a repository of communications from our suppliers that are updated in real-time located at https://info.carltonbates.com/en/updates-on-coronavirus-covid-19. Our suppliers understand the urgency of this information and we are actively working to obtain daily updates.

In addition to giving an update on our supplier outreach, we wanted to provide greater transparency on Carlton-Bates operations and how we intend to continue providing the highest level of customer service, without compromising the health and wellness of our employees. Our actions are driven first and foremost by our Business Continuity Plan. We have assembled a cross-functional team of leaders to form a COVID 19 taskforce which meets daily to evaluate the rapidly changing landscape and ensure our compliance with county, state and federal directives. As a result of those meetings, Carlton-Bates is taking the following actions:

  • Given the criticality of the products and services we provide, we intend to keep our locations open, including those in counties under a shelter in place order. Carlton-Bates is only performing essential activities necessary to manage basic operations in support of your business. Certain locations may operate with limited onsite staff and restrict will-call pickups to ensure the safety of all parties.
  • To support the global effort to contain the spread of COVID-19, many Carlton-Bates associates have been asked to work remotely, and we are restricting the travel of our outside sales team. Although the sales team may not be on-site, they will continue to be accessible and prepared to support you.
  • In some of our larger locations and Distribution Centers we will be implementing a multi-shift strategy to foster social distancing while continuing to support the needs of our customers.
  • Each site has an emergency action plan as well as COVID 19-specific procedures should there be an exposure. We are actively training our teams on the importance of strategies to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

We understand the anxiety that these extraordinary circumstances can create and assure you that Carlton-Bates is doing everything within our power to provide an uninterrupted supply of products and service. As this is a fluid situation, we will be providing updates on our supply chain and operations in the coming weeks. In the meantime we would encourage you to keep our sales team informed of any upcoming strategic buys you foresee so we can take active measures to ensure we are ready to help.
